Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to prevent running and ACL injuries in your clients from two of Boston Children’s Hospital’s most renowned Sports Medicine physicians and Injury Prevention Specialists at The Micheli Center. Running is one of the most popular activities with clients and during this session you will discover how to teach them simple steps they can take to prevent common injuries. Likewise, ACL tears are a devastating injury that can derail your clients’ fitness goals; knowing how to prevent these injuries and how to work with clients who have already suffered from them can bring you to the next level as a trainer.

He is also the Director of Primary Care in the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, Co-Medical Director of the Boston Marathon, President of the International Institute of Race Medicine, and Director of the Sports Ultrasound.During this presentation attendees will learn: – Common running deficiencies and their role in injuries – How gait retraining can help your clients – The science behind dynamic warm ups for runners – Latest research on running injury prevention

Attendees will have the opportunity to demo the center’s testing equipment during tours and after presentations.During the hands on demos, attendees will learn: – What does a dynamic warm up look like and how to implement them ointo a client’s routine – Proper stretches and strengthening exercises to prevent common running injuries – Key exercises to strengthen knees, hips, and the surrounding muscles to osafeguard against ACL’S injuries – Proper landing, cutting, & squatting techniques – three motions that frequently ocause ACL tears when performed incorrectly. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
